You are an exceptional parent.
That’s why you’re here.
You are the expert on your child…
… and you know that sometimes children need extra support.
That’s why we’re here.
Your child is experiencing a whirlwind of negative emotions… triggered by “anything and everything.” It isn’t easy to keep track anymore.
One minute they seem happy. The next minute, they’re having a meltdown.
The cause of the meltdown, however big or small, isn’t the problem. How they handle these situations is the real issue.
As parents, you probably wish you could remove every barrier…
… throughout your child’s life so that they never have to encounter anything that causes them to feel upset.
But the truth is… you can’t.
Your child will have to hear the word “no” throughout their life. They will have to follow rules that aren’t fun. They’ll have to experience situations that don’t seem fair. They won’t always get their way, and they won’t win every time.
We get it! No one likes these experiences (not even us)!
So, let’s teach your child some healthy ways to handle them early on.
It’s so hard for kids to do this…
Anxiety and sadness can cause them to avoid necessary tasks like going to school, spending time with family, or doing their chores.
And managing and communicating negative emotions is difficult for a child. Their natural response to these feelings may be screaming in anger, throwing a tantrum, or ignoring you in tearful silence.
But don’t despair… there is good news!
No child is “born with” the tools to manage their emotions, but these skills can easily be learned!
Throughout this journey, your child will begin to use their words to communicate their feelings… and their coping skills to manage their emotions.
And you will learn ways to help your child when they’re upset… and techniques to manage their behaviors.
If you’re like most parents, you’re not sure where to begin.
I will be your expert guide throughout the process, from the first phone call to the final therapy session.
Again, you are the expert on your child, so let’s work together to find the most successful treatment path for them.

About Courtney Loveless, B.S., M.S., LPC-MHSP
I became a mental health counselor with the mission to help children, teens, and their families.
Once I began practicing, I knew that this was the right profession for me.
I enjoy working with kids and love celebrating my clients’ success stories.
I often receive phone calls from former clients expressing their excitement that they “graduated high-school,” “got into their dream college,” or “made the middle-school basketball team.”
Whatever their goal, I am driven to help them achieve it. I believe that every child can succeed beyond their wildest dreams, and it is my goal to help them get there.
